Mine was bought at the dealership. Never bought a new car that had ten litres of fuel in it. Seems pretty mean for a £35k car. Still I can vote with my feet next time!

BTW the dealer was Donald's of Ipswich.

I bought a used V70, 2 years old from Rybrook at Warrington, full tank of diesel, a bouquet of flowers for the wife and a courtesy call a week or so later to make sure all was ok, I would call Volvo UK and ask if what you experienced was the norm and you may get some joy from them, good luck.

I think that we should consider the cost of all these 'freebies' that one tends to expect with a car. With a full tank of fuel costing the the largest part of £100, and all the other items costing more all the time, you have the choice of having a cheaper price for the car or the premium price with all the 'free extras'.

I would like to get bags of freebies, but with the reality being that the cost of these is hidden in the price you pay for the car, I understand why they have started to disappear.

That is not an excuse for poor service or bad manners and if the car is not 100% and the service was not exemplary then the dealer must be reprimanded. I say must as if no-one complains then they will continue giving poor service and that is not acceptable in any world.
