throttle body and icv
can any1 show me where the icv valve is on ma r reg v40 1.8gdi i checked throtle body today its black,wats the best way to clean it out,its no easy to get at,im going to try and get icv cleaned aswell but dont no where it is

.....it is not the same as the Volvo engined 1.8 ..... up to 2001 the Melco 1 system uses an Idle Air Control Valve and it is situated under and part of the throttle housing, you don`t have to take it apart to clean it you should get your results by only cleaning the throttle housing and the butterfly...2001 onwards and the Melco 2 system use a stepper motor and fly by wire for the throttle operation......use carb. cleaner and a toothbrush to get down inside and make sure there are no hard lumps of carbon on the edge of the butterfly so that it can close fully...........
