so first way to hack , is remove the cassette, follow Bill's 805 hack on Page 3 of this thread, and solder to the two traingle points on the cassette PCB. they are clearly marked LCH and RCH. You can simply use a case chassis earth for the earth

however, one thing I found with these units, there is another way.

if you remove the cassette unit, and the ribbon cable, like below, then the unit thinks there is a cassette installed, even when there is no unit fitted.

so this avoids having to use a blank cassette to fool the system, but does mean you will have no cassette facility, but lets face it, who needs it?

so i have removed mine, and left it out

but, this now means we need to find another method of connection

so, we use the lower board method again

remove the lower panel from the case, and look towards the rear edge for the area marked in yellow, this is where the cassette ribbon connects

so, we need to find the two pins, and these are the two we need

be carefull when connecting, as the ones to the right have 12V in them for the motor, so do not cross solder or you will short the unit

again, use a case earth for your earth, and use 10uf Capacitors as previous

ok, so here is the 802, being soldered onto the lower side

2 10uf Capacitors, added to the points, then the AUX leads added.

notice the Earth added to the main earth

now, simply cover the connections in elec tape to stop them shortening on the board, and cover, then replace the cover, feeding the cables out the rear

then tested, using my home rig I made using a 12V convertor and some speakers [saves going out to the car]

remember, i have removed my whole tape deck unit so inside is emtpy, and it allows me to select TAPE on the front and does not need a blank cassette to fool it

my Aux input worked great using this.

so that is the SC802 now hacked along with

SC800
SC801
SC805

I must say, having now fitted this to my 850, the sound quality of the AUX is much clearer then the SC800/801 versions I have hacked, so it seems these newer units have a better Cassette system. Only issue is that it is grey, and the rest of my dash is Black

ok, decided this weekend to take this Mod one step further, and add a FRONT connection. THis time, it is a 3.5mm jack

Luckily, the 801 comes with a perfect size hole, ready made

SO, if you want to do this, instead of the rear, or indeed, as I have done, along side the rear, then first simply remove the front

Look next to the tuning knob, you will see a blank fitted. simply remove the black from the rear and you have a ready made hole.
