A car wash wiped my S60R down with a rubbish sponge which was full of sheen, I used hot water with a damp leather chamois.
And I went over the dash a few times, while letting it dry in betwen wipes and it worked a treat. Try that before chemicals. Make sure the chamois is warm with a slight steam woofing off it. |

Thanks for all the replies - I have tried various things from warm water to a cleaner 'guaranteed to clean it off' with no visible difference. Guess I just have a shiny dash - I think spraying it is going to be the only answer

We use it at work for cleaning IT equipment. Definitely spray on a test area first, wipe before it evaporates else it will leave a white residue. Or for something less alcoholic you could try foam cleaner (http://www.ukofficedirect.co.uk/prd_462806.aspx) spray it on, leave it for 30 seconds then wipe off. I have used both of these on a 1984 XJS dashboard without any damage. The isoproponol did remove the white detail on the warning lights in the dashboard binnacle on a Landrover Defender, so dont get it on any writing. |
