Rough ride
My 440 1.7 1989 with 100k is a very rough ride. On uneven surfaces, there is a distinct metallic cloncking from the front end of the car, I presume suspension, it shakes at speeds above 80 mph and is generally unpleasant to drive. I want to replace bushings all over the place but wonder which ones to go for. I will replace the shocks if this is required but am thinking this is more of a bushing issue. What do you think?

RE: Rough ride
Hi.
Sounds like your track rod ends and possibly your lower ball joints as well. Get the track rod ends replaced first and see if it fixes it. It did with my old 440 turbo that suffered clonking and wandering steering... :-) Hope that helps. Dan. |
