Default Dead car??

Well looks like she's died?
Recently had new head gasket, aux belt, water pump etc.,
On the way home from work Saturday morning over heated losing all water from cooling system!!

AA man arrives fills her up with water again..leaves off the reservoir cap and tells me to start car!! water gushes out of reservoir like fountain...TELLS me something has gone in engine probably head gasket and knackered cylinder head

Has anybody any idea whats happened???????

cheers
Simon.

I presume as it had a new head gasket recently, that it overheated before? Not being aware of who did the repair i.e. you, or someone else?!, is it possible that the head was warped when everything was put back together?

Either way, i wouldn't view the car as "dead" - there are T4 engines available out there for less than it would cost to get a cylinder head done, so all not lost!

NO never over heated before....was getting oil in water...when head gasket replaced ...they said head was fine!!
Cars done 164000 miles....and just paid out £800 for all work including new mot etc....think this is final straw...

Just wondered if it was something simple....or it is head gasket and head???

Well if it's either the head or the gasket or both, garage should have spotted if anything was amiss, before putting it back together. You got anyone who can have a look and give a diagnosis?

Failing that, are you a member of AA/RAC or similar? Get them to advise what has happened and if anything to do with above, that will be valuable ammunition to have in your pocket when you speak with the garage.

If you've just had the head gasket done, I'd be banging on the door of the garage that did it! Symptoms definitely sound like the head gasket has gone again.
