Engine: D5: - Won't Start

I started a thread back in January regards my V70 D5 struggling to start. See below

Having read all posts on this I was thinking that I must have 1 or more faulty INJECTORS .
My car is not used regularly i.e. it may not move for 10 or 12 days at a time. And I have been very lax in getting this fixed. BUT! Now it simply won't start from cold without a squirt of Quick Start direct into the engine side of the air filter pipe. Even a warm engine requires turning over for about 20 seconds or more to restart....
QUESTION... is this now pointing to the in-tank pump? And how likely to simply PACK UP without further notice?

My in tank pump did pack in eventually and the car would not start but the £10 replacement is still going strong nearly 30k miles later so neednt cost the earth to fix it . Have posted photo of the low pressure fuel pipe inlet to the engine mounted pump somewhere about two years ago , will find it again and give you the link (my internet search skills are zero ) , sorry cant remember if its the upper or lower pipe but its a really easy thing to check , just a bit messy but at least you can then rule it out without having spent much . You will just need a jubilee clip to replace the existing clip which is not meant to be reused and could well be your injectors or something else but mine didnt get any stored diagnostic codes so at the time it was a bugger to find out what was causing the problem .

As usual I can find everything I am not looking for but had a look under the bonnet on my D5 . The low pressure fuel feed pipe has to be the top one because the lower one has a T junction which also takes the low pressure return from the injectors back to the fuel tank . Replacing the in tank pump would be a bit of an awkward job first time around as the large diameter plastic ring is likely to be tight if its never been taken out . Have had mine in and out quite a few times and its easy but watch out for the large diameter seal making sure there is no dirt on the seal or the seal seat as I have experienced fuel leaking with a full tank and had to redo it but all ok now . Also dont break the in tank cross feed pipe plastic junction which happened on mine but can be fixed using araldite and copper brake pipe and I dont think you can buy this part on its own .
