Bi carb of soda in a large container so it does'nt spill, it will absorb nasty niffs and giving the car a good clean will help it along. shampoo carpets and rear seats with a good quality shampoo and conditioner and allow to dry as this will also help remove the offending smell, don't be tempted to use sprays or air fresheners as this only masks the smell temporarily.

Yes, I agree Bi-carb of Soda is good. You could try sprinkling the bi-carb over the carpets and soft trim, leaving it for a couple of hours (or longer) to absorb the odours and then vacuum it up.

You may need to check out the Aircon too, that can often pick up dog odours if not use regularly. Cycling the Aircon 10 minutes on the hottest setting, 10 on the coldest sometimes helps.

...probably wouldn't hurt to take out as much of the boot trim/carpet as possible to get underneath it.
Assuming the dog has just been in the boot - the side panels/ seat backs / all the nooks and crannies around the 3rd row of seats, underfloor battery compartment, corner panels, headlining, tailgate trim - all worth a bit of dedicated upholstery cleaner - and/or good old damp cloth with a dash of flash in a bucket of warm water for the plastics.

Cheers
Ian

Put a tray of charcoal (Barbi fuel) on the back seat according to Penny Mallory.

With reference to the trim removal how do you remove the side boot panels. they look like they come off. Any other tips would still be appreciated.

Indian tonic water, given this tip by a kindly valet company. Got rid of that lovely smell of kids vomit. Should work on dogs although some smell worse than vomit!

Cheers, so with the tonic water do you just clean with it instead of water? Matt

Put it in a spray bottle and spray away. i scrubbed with it on vomit stain just to make sure it worked!! try just spraying at first, can't hurt to give a little rub though.
