Default Rearview mirror 164 (144?)

I noticed that on the 144 it is suggested that to remove the rearview mirror one just yanks it off.

I also notice that in one of my handbooks it suggests that it needs to be turned through 90º before one pulls down on it.

With the 164, do I just pull until it comes away? I have tried rotating the stem without any movement at all and pulling on it feels as if it will break before clicking out of place.

All ideas gratefully received!

It can be a tight fit, but yes. Yoou can just pull it off. Don't think turning first makes a difference. Turning may me more difficult than pulling. Don't be afraid. You won't break anything.

Many thanks, I could not, in fact turn it, but an unkind tug and the thing came away. Now, to try to work out why the water pours in the sunroof, but that can be another posting (yes, the drain channels are working!).

Thanks,

George
