Default Front Parking Sensors

I'm considering fitting Volvo front parking sensors myself, has anyone carried out this task and if so what are the pitfalls and likely effort required? Also has anyone fitted other after market front sensors and if so what was the cost and how do you rate them?

I've re-raised this thread, so apologies to those that are bored by it, but I cant believe that no-one has had a go at fitting front sensors. If no response this time I'll keep quiet!

See here for the installation instructions...

http://vccs.volvocars.se/accessories...ar=XC90%202010

Looks fairly straight forward - apart from all the cutting of holes in the bumper and the sw download you will need to enable it.

Might be cheaper/simpler to get an aftermarket kit - though you lose the canbus integration that enables the Volvo front system below a certain speed...

Peter ( Elliott2) can fit invisible front sensors - maybe something like this?

I paid £400 for a volvo fpa. Works a treat and looks great too. Do not see the point to mess around to save £100 on a £25k car

The link that is above looks quite good about 200 fitted. What does Peter charge. Does he come to you or you go to him and if so where is he?

What Year is that car?

I've been told that you can only mount the front sensors on a newer model???

reggie59,

Just to check - was this the genuine Volvo installed Front Park Assist or another after-market kit?

If it was genuine Volvo installed Front Park Assist how long did it take for them to fit it?

I must admit that I would really like to get this option, but the degree that they have to take your car to bits to fit it worries me. Will they ever get it all back together properly without introducing squeaks and rattles or other faults.

How good a job did they do on yours?
