Default boost control solenoid wanted

For the d5 engine 163 as im having 'top end' boost problems with the comman engine service message on full boost 3rd + gear and i suspect this is at fault. Can pay via paypal or swap for a used but good clutch slave cylinder or part worn clutch plate/pressure plate. Cheers, carl.

Just a though, have you checked the hose that is fitted to the turbo? mine had exactly the same problem, found out that this pipe was so soft it was actually being sucked shut blocking almost all the air being fed into the turbo and engine. If its easy to squeeze by hand as in very soft, id get that changed first before the solenoid as that cured my problem.

My hose is quite soft yea and it is very easy to squeeze by hand. Under maximum boost im guessing not enough air is getting in.....Will try that i guess, thanks for that!

It's probably being starved of air because your pipe is constructing like mine did, that turbo really sucks some air in!

You can check by getting someone to rev the car while you watch for movement on the pipe, has to be quite high bursts on revs. You can judge yourself then if you think the pipe constructs too much!

Hope this helps anyway

I have just bought myself a new pipe at the cost of 63 pound. I will test it tonight and see if it solved the issue!

Ok no luck with that either so im back to square one. May even get a VAG one off ebay and retro fit the wiring plus mount that solenoid elsewhere for easier access.
