Sorry had a dumb moment...

Checked the MY2011 XC90 brochure and all models except for the R-Design came with Black background Chrono Dials as standard. The R-Design also came standard with Chrono Dials, but with a Blue background instead of the black.

The blue ones are an optional accessory on all model years from what it says on the XC90 accessories page, but standard on the R-Design.
