Just done an online MOT check for my car as its MOT is due in october.
I bought the car in April, but it had a missing advisory notice. Quick online check has confirmed: Offside Parking brake Your vehicle has only just met the required park brake efficiency. It would appear that the braking system requires adjustment or repair. (3.7.A.10) So looks like I might need to have the wheels off. Other than change the shoes what is there to do? |

Other than shoes, lubricate moving components/surfaces, then adjustment and balance is important too.

I have found that the handbrake does not need readjustment (manual adjuster) as the new disks and shoes slide together without any adjustment. I am not so sure re the auto adjuster -it looks a tricky piece of work to adjust/setup in VIDA, but there again, that may just be the way its explained! At least there is no ECU controlled handbrake, so no popping pistons! David |
