Default Ebay 940 goes for a high price

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Just wondered whether anyone had noticed this? I can't believe the price that it achieved, not a particularly high spec car either.

Well it was worth it to someone though it does seem a little high.

I doubt very much its sold, the bidding goes from £1200 to £3000 in 1 bid, something very strange there

Indicates a reserve at £3000.00.

Having looked at the automatic bids, the winning bidder entered their max amount at 20:59:06 when the bidding was still below £1200. From the timings it looks like the £3001 bid was a 'desperation' bid from someone at 20:59:25 with the auction ending at 20:59:27. My comment on the 'reserve' would appear to be wrong.

That's got to be someone taking the whatsit surely? Even if it didn't sound a little rough in places it wouldn't be worth that.

What's the betting that the seller will never see the cash!

Sounds like one of the normal Ebay jokers to me

I think it'll be re-listed in a few days. I remember when I was younger, some of my friends put a penny on ebay and started a bidding war right into the £100k's, then when it ended ebay wanted their share lol. It took ages to get the charges dropped.
