Default Wanted for 1984 240 DL; radio and headlight switch.

Just got this estate on ebay, unseen. Only 30k miles and MoTs to prove. Unfortunately there's a hole where the radio should be, and no hole anywhere, where an aerial should be. The headlamp flasher works, but the switch doesn't.

Hope somebody can help !

Problem is not likely to be switch more likely to be either relay behind glovebox or the main headlamp relay on the inner wing.

I've got a 'Volvo 4' stereo going spare. Its OK if you want originality but thats about it. The early 240s had the radio fitted at the bottom of the dash behind the gearstick and the later ones at the top of the dash. I would guess that yours will be a lower position model being 1984. The other option is to fit an adaptor plate that accepts a modern stereo. Do a search on here as there is plent oy info already listed.

Best of luck

well done for picking up a low mileage estate on ebay. is it the blue one?

i've got a radio cassette out of an 88 GLT, lower position. works fine, with manual and fitting instructions.

i'm the other side of the country, but could post it to you.

drop me an email on mail(at)dbini.com if you're interested and i'll send you a photo....

Thanks for all your helpful replies. Yes, it was the blue one. I'll get both the relays checked first. John, I'll email you, because I'm interested in the radio.
