Default Electrics question on new Exec

My new Exec arrived this week - fantastic all round but think there may be an electrics glitch or could just be me?

Thing is, I can't unlock the tailgate with either of the remotes. Manual says one press for unlock, two for open slightly but no joy.

Also, rear doors stay locked from (inside and outside) after key removed and need to press "unlock" on remote to open. Is that right?

Or is there an option to set that somewhere?

Be grateful for any advice - thanks.

Sounds as though your door locking is set to come on as soon as you drive off. If that is the case, your rear door locks will have to be opened by the remote when you stop.
It is in the owners handbook as to how to reset the car. With engine off but ignition sw set at 1 or 2, hold in the reset botton on the end of the indicator stalk. You will see a notice come up saying autolock on or off.
Hope this helps.
PS Glad you are enjoying your XC90. I love mine. Just spent this pm polishing it. Probably spent more time moving the steps than polishing it.
Used Nielsens polish.
