Default heater matrix problem help needed!!

hi my heater matrix on my 940 has packed up i have discnnected the the 2 pipes to stop the car filling up with steam however the coolant is still leaking from where the pipes were connected and also from under the bonnet where the back of the heater matrix

until i get the matrix replaced how do i stop the coolant leak?

Can you blow through the top connector to force out the coolant? I did this and also joined the two hoses together with a plastic hose connector.

Are you sure its the matrix and not the heater valve?

i have joined the 2 hoses together

could be the heater valve but i am not too sure where that is ? is it on the engine side of the glove box if that makes sense

I think there are two possible locations for the heater control valve. On mine, it is just to the left of the clutch pedal.

Hi,

This will very much depend on whether you have AirCon or not. With AirCon fitted the heater control valve is actually in the engine bay and almost under the inlet manifold (and a right bugger to change too!)

If the HCV is inside then, as mentioned it will be at or about the drivers side and near/above the clutch pedal - or where that would be if you have an auto..

It will also be worth pulling your carpets as there is also a foam and rubber section and that just loves to absorb coolant and keep hold of it!!
