Default Volvo 340 saloon for sale

I am selling my lovely Gloria, a blue 340 saloon. She had her MOT recently and I wasn't able to afford the work which was quoted at about £500 including labour. She's a good car, in good general working order and I would hate to see her scrapped, so if anyone has the money to spare, or is able to do the work themselves, i'm open to offers.

Details from the MOT:

Nearside front coil spring incomplete
Offside front coil spring incomplete
Nearside front tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm
Offside front tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm
Offside rear fog lamp not working

She is a 1988 E reg and the odometer is reading 46,752 miles. She's perfectly driveable, but as there's not MOT I guess she may need to be towed.

Please feel free to ask any questions and I really hope to find her a good home.

Thanks!
Kirsten.

Jay, thanks for your PM. Unfortunately I don't seem able to respond. Do you think you could send me a quick email to kirsteefairy@yahoo.co.uk and I'll reply with answers to your questions?
Thanks,
Kirsten.

I would love to hear a further explanation of the coil spring situation. The only problem which I know can affect them in this area is the spring seat collapsing...but I doubt you'd have made it as far as the MOT station if that had happened!

The other three items are trivial.

I know a 300-series expert nearby who might be able to help, if you're interested in putting it through the test.

cheers

James

The question is how do they know? An incomplete spring works just as well as a complete one (assuming its not falling out).

A broken spring is a MOT failure and not uncommon on later 300's ...

It is now sitting on my drive sans engine, and the front suspension no longer looks collapsed!

If anybody wants any saloon trim bits let me know, I'm using it for an new front end following my bump and F7P conversion bits.

Cheers
