Default starting problem

Can anybody please advise on the following problem the car is a 960 96 mod 3ltr auto and LPG conv. and it won't start.
The car was running ok on LPG and cut out, Tried to start it and the engine would turn over but not run (In normal conditions it starts on petrol then changes to LPG at 1500 revs)
Called out the AA who checked for obvious reasons(fuel levels ok fuses all seem ok, he disconnected the trunk hose at the throttle valve and sprayed into it whilst turning over the engine but no start) so the car was transported to a local garage where it will be looked at next week when the mechanic starts.
To summorize
The petrol system was not in use at the time it was on gas, and it won't start on petrol now
The code reader I carry showed code P0705 immediately after stalling but I don't know how long this had been on. I erased the code and then tried to start numerous times and it has since showed "no codes" (I have had trouble in the past with the switch but after stripping it down cleaning and re-greasing about six months ago have not had any problems ie/ the flashing yellow light
The PNP switch was in drive at the time it happened and had been for about a mile or so
All the lights are on at the dashboard when the ignition is on
I posted a thread on the LPG section and Capt Jack suspects the PNP switch not a fuel problem,
any other idea's received with great interest
Thanks Paul-C

Hi,

You get a spark? May well be electrical in nature - something stopping the ignition system getting current through to the coil packs.

Might be worth disconnecting the battery for 5 mins then power up when in "park" - I'm just wondering if the PNP switch still "thinks" its in drive which would account for the none start.

The suspicion was that it could be electrical due to it not starting on petrol or running on LPG but have not checked for power at the coil packs as yet.
I have taken the battery off the car to re-charge it so when it is re-fitted the switch will have had the time to forget what it thought it was doing
Thanks guy's
