Bad Vibrations
Hi All,
Since I bought the car in February, I have noticed that there is a considerable amount of vibration back through the car. I can feel it in the brake/clutch pedals mostly and also up through the steering column. It is most noticeable when reving hard and when I'm pulling away with the steering either turned left or right. The rear view mirror vibrates when the revs are high. Have any of you suffered from this...?

RE: Bad Vibrations
Bad suspension? or engine mounts? Shouldnt vibrate as much as your saying! Or bad exhaust mounting!

RE: Bad Vibrations
Definitely not suspension as it happens when taking off from a stationary position. I have pulled/levered the engine mounts be all seem intact, hard to tell without a four poster lift or pit. It's been suggested on another forum that it may be an out of balance flywheel or clutch plate? How likely is this to happen...?

RE: Bad Vibrations
Thats possible too, especially at high revs if one of the spinning discs is off centre youll get huge vibrations, but wouldnt the vibrations run through the driveshafts (as thats the central pivot?) - if so im presuming that the suspension would take some of this vibration out, could be wrong though?

RE: Bad Vibrations
Is it only when taking off or does it happen atnormal speeds.
I would almost definitely suspect the clutch, I imagine that the fact that your car is fwd it would magnify the effect as the vibration is runing across the car shaking it ffrom side to side. I dont have a clue what the remedy is though :-(

RE: Bad Vibrations
Cheers for that guys, I'll have to look into having the clutch replaced and the flywheel balanced ;( Boo Hiss...
