Default V70 TDi 1998 25 - Non runner...sort of

Hello there,

I have a very similar situation to "Newbie selling £300 spares/repair V70 TDI in Wiltshire" only I'm in Manchester.

I bought the car form a dealer nearly a year ago, it broke down after 5 days...massive heartache had to go to court today. The dealer has said it is too expensive for him to collect the car and has asked me to scrap it.

No goddammitt, not if I can help it!

Despite a protracted court process there was no firm and final diagnosis for the car. Estimates ranged from as little as £200 to £1,800 to fix it!

I really don't want to scrap this car as there's nothing structually wrong with it but there is possible armegeddon happening in the engine.

Under the terms of the court order I have to get no less than £200 for it.

I implore somebody to offer me a sensible amount who would be happy to restore the car to it's rightful pomp.

The car is SORN'd with about 3 days MOT on it. It has not turned over since May but having pushed it recently I can tell you it has not seized up!

The car is metallic bronze and the interior cream leather. All the good bits worked on it before the battery went flat like the air con, electric windows and sunroof etc.

The car is automatic and the mileage is 178,000.

Please PM with any questions. I will try and post pictures soon but I am away this weekend.

Has it been properly diagnosed?
What were the symptoms etc?

Cheers
