Default V70 lowering springs advice

Has anyone used Eiback lowering springs? What effect did they have on ride and handling characteristics? I've got a 2007 V70 T6 Sport which sits very high on the stock springs and has lots of body roll as a result. I've got the 4C chassis but it feels over damped and under sprung in all but the comfort setting which is just too soft. The later R-design models seem to sit about 20mm lower than mine. I ordered the Eibach springs yesterday which will drop the car 30mm but I'm worried they will leave the ride too firm. I go for the Volvo units off the R-design?

Not fitted to a v70 but have had these on some of my previous cars. As its a premium quality spring the lowering is not as excessive as the cheaper springs can be and whilst a sport spring will deliver a firmer ride, due to the higher quality they are designed better to provide an 'enhancement' when it comes to improving the handling withou ruining the actual quality of the ride. Cheaper springs usually leave you with a poor and crashy ride.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm getting the Eibachs fitted tomorrow so I'll post the results once I've had a chance to test the car. Also getting EBC redstuff pads fitted at the same time.

I would love to hear your views on your product and hope all goes smoothly with the fitting.

Also, I would like to say its imperative that following any form of suspension work, one should always have a full geometry set-up. Failing to do will result in your suspension being out of specification, coupled with more sporty suspension components (which will make things feel more direct etc) you may experience the car feeling sharp/twitchy to road surface changes, cambers and steering inputs.

In Nottingham, I use Nottingham Alignment services and they use the Hunter Hawk-Eye systems and my cars cost circa £48 quid to be set up/aligned correctly.

I had the springs fitted yesterday and first impressions are good. The car sits much better on the lower springs and just looks right. Driving it is a revelation. The stock spring and damper setting just never felt right. There was far too much body roll and the car crashed over pot holes and bumps in anything but the Comfort setting. The Eibach springs have massively reduced roll making the car feel much easier to drive even at slow speeds. I was surprised at how compliant the springs feel as I was worried they would be too harsh. Even in the Advanced (Firm) setting the car feels slightly softer than the Volvo originals and has better small bump sensitivity. Rebound is slightly too quick, but it isn't detrimental. I haven't pushed the car hard yet as I've had EBC redstuff pads fitted, but once they've bedded in I'll publish how the springs perform under hard driving.

Cheshire Vehicle Services in Stockport carried out the work and did a great job. The ride height was recalibrated and all the geometry reset to manufacturers spec after the springs were fitted. £200 + VAT.
