Question Unexpected Alarm

I was standing near my '05 V40 2.0D (so it was not locked) when suddenly the horn started going "Phat Phat Phat Phat ....". Locking and unlocking via the key remote made no difference; it only stopped when I put the key in the ignition. Obviously it wasn't the 'normal' alarm, which is an electronic warble, so what was it?

I believe it would go Phat Phat Phat Phat after pressing and holding the panic button on the key fob for a couple of seconds.

The panic button, for example to alert to a myocardial infarct at the wheel, or "help I'm being raped"... ect. is that red triangular button on the fob. It may have been accidentally pressed in your pocket?

Wouldn't it be fun if the panic button set off every Volvo alarm in range of the key fob. How amusing would that be to annoy a Volvo stealer...
