Is that the same as Bevel Gear? There is a post in the article section that covers replacement of Bevel Gear to fix AWD.

Yes I believe it is the same as the bevel gear.

Can anyone please comment on the removal of the seal?

One Volvo dealer is telling me the whole gear cover needs to be taken off; another Volvo dealer has told me this is not the case and the seal can be pulled out and replaced from the outside and it's a easy job.

The part numbers of the seals I've been told that need replacinf are the following:

9480961
925259
8636014

I'm sure I only need the one. Is anyone kindly able to confirm please?

Can anyone please tell me what fluid goes into the angle gear box as the parts department at the Volvo dealership was unable to answer this question?

Looking at the article, it ends saying "Also a great opportunity to change the bevel gear oil whilst its down on the ground (75w-90 oil)"

Is that any good?

From the main XC90 General page you'll see the first section is called "Sub Forums". The first thread says XC90 Articles. Click on that and the first thread related to DIY AWD Repair Instructions.
