hi just a thought ,if i do tow a van at 1750kg with my alhambra 2.0tdi wont i be over the gross train weight of 4000kg?

you have a point gary, in the tech specs that i put up it states the the gross weight of the car is 2430 kg plus your vans weight of 1750kg that would give you 4180 kg. so yes you are correct for the gross train weight. sorry if i have misslead you on paper its a good tow car weight wise but the heavier the van will eat into your gross weight.

hi no the 4000kg was a figure i came accross on the net i cant find my plate its iether covered in muck or not where it states so the weight might be higher ille have a better look cheers gary

the reason i asked is, in the specs you can tow to 2000kg your cars weight is 2430kg, so unless i am missing something the gross train weight should be higher.

yes i wondered that ill get out the torch and have a good look under the bonnet where the hand book says it should be

hi just found plate on the car and it is defo 4000kg so i iether load the caravan light or buy a lighter van

okay at least you now no,whats very interesting is the car is that heavy and you can tow 2000kg but you would be over the train weight.madness..

yes crazy but ive been looking at many other car options from c crossers to mitsubushi overlanders ,xc90 and so on but most of them have very similar tow figures to the alhambra uless you go down the landrover route which isnt feasable as a daily comuter as well, but the alhambra is so more versatile as you can have it as a four seater and carry lots of stuff aswell and far cheaper to run overall than a 4x4 anyway thanks alot that cleared up a few things now to relook at what van to get cheers gary
