Default volvo c70 2.4 rough running.

Hi all,I am a newbie on here as I have just purchased a 51 plate c70 convertable. The car drives lovely but it "hunts" on tickover and seems to hesitate on acceleration. I have a couple of thoughts that it could be the "idle control valve " or the "maf meter". Are any of these common faults on these cars or could it be something else. Any help would be greatly received, cheers?

Get the fault codes read and it might be worth cleaning the ETM as a first port of call - Mike

Hi, and welcome to C70 ownership ......

I had the same problem on my C70 2.4T, I cleaned the throttle body and gave the inlet for the MAF sensor (in line with the air inlet pipe) a good dose of WD40 which gave freedom again to the stuck butterfly switch inside the unit (think it was just the build up of dirt) she ticks over perfectly now ...
