Not just Toyota-throttle stuck open on brand new 1.6D C30.
I have a 2010 3000 mile 1.6D R Design C30. Son just came in, and said the throttle had jammed open twice. Went out with him, and, sure enough, while videoing the pedal, as he floored it, it jammed open.
Being the R Design, the car is fitted with the overmats. These are not the old white rimmed variety. When removed, throttle did not jam, so it seems more like the old Ford Explorer problem (throttle getting jammed by carpet) than the Toyota throttle mechanism. Car will be returned (carefully!) to dealer tomorrow, and I will notify relevant authorities that there could well be a safety issue. Certainly scared the s**t out of my son. |

I thought that you could spec the spare wheel and jack as a no cost option when you ordered it?
That was the case when I ordered my V50 in 2007 and my V70 last September |

More C30 Problems
My Volvo C30 R Design Sport (21,800 miles) still under warranty - had the alarm go off last night without reason. Then again 15 minutes later...so I re set again and stood and listned and heard a whiring noise for a few seconds to the front left of the car. I had to leave the car in the garage unlockd and took it to the dealers the next day - after a short investigation I was told that the washer pump was leaking and water had travelled down the wiring harness to the control module and now all three parts require replacing. I asked the mechanic if Volvo were aware of this and the reply was "Yes"...so why are Volvo not telling people about this...I can imagine this is an expensive job if out of warranty and dealers are not telling anyone. So has anyone else had any problems??? Send me a message please. Thanks - Steve

Stupid I know but I think as cars can change hands quickly its a paper trail they would have to do, or get info from DVLA etc. So its down to time and money. If your car was in for a service or routine check they would carry out the necessary recall work though
