Default T6 Cold Start Increased Idle

Can anyone please tell me if this can be adjusted by the Stealership?

I'm sure when the engine is running like the clappers it doesn't do the tranny any good to try and get in into drive. At least it doesn't feel that way. Plus the fact the car is difficult to control in a tight space on my drive when it's trying to run away with me and I can't control it. Yes, I could wait for it to run down but why should I? On top of which, why has this been programmed to do it?

This is for emission purposes to heat up the catalylic converters quickly it only lasts 30 seconds or so . When you put it into gear this is cancelled partialy . its easy to control you press the middle pedal and dont need to press the throttle even when this phase is over .... The rpm isnt excessive , a 6 cylinder sounds 50% faster than a 4 for the same rpm :-)

Wouldn't it be nice for the oil to circulate thru the engine before driving off.
I dont mind waiting for 2 mins for the idle to come down, i like a well oiled engine before i drive off.

Agreed, I always wait for it to drop onto tick over. I also don't over rev for the last half mile before stopping, and allow the oil to circulate whilst the turbos cool down before turning the engine off.

i wouldnt worry about the oil , after the engine fires it takes probably less than a second for oil to get up to pressure and completely circulate through the bearings with the huge capacity oil pump a volvo has ..
with the water cooled turbos volvo have had for many years they dont get that hot anymore and the advanced oils we have now designed to cope with turbochargers .
