Dash woes
M reg T5 manual
Hi, Bit of an odd problem, but basically my boost gauge, odometer and trip meter have packed up! The speedo + rev counter work so I am a bit stumped as to what the problem might be, the dash is a bit squeaky but that's about it. Is there a simple way to check or is it (I hope not...) a dash out job? Thanks, |

Dash out is really not a big deal. You can have it out in 15 minutes. Think there are 13 torx screws. 2 either side air vents, 3 in glove box, 1 each in centre vents, 2 at dash and 1 each behind left and right vents. Vents pop out with screw driver and everything is accessible.
I had mine out, repaired odometer and refitted in 2 hours today. http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/200...er-fix-how-to/ Once your in there are 3 plugs to take out and the boost gauge pipe, check all these are secure. Odometer is probably the gear wheel as described in above link. Follow instructions and its a very satisfying fix

That's great, thanks - so I can obtain the correct mileage from under the hood and then easliy adjust it on the odometer without it looking like it's been clocked?
You reckon that the boost gauge is likely a dash-related issue? Thanks, |

It happened the first time i took the dash out. I refitted it and the gauge wouldnt work. The pipe at the back wasnt pushed on properly. If that doesnt work try and follow the pipe down the back, there is a connection down there that can come off as well
