Smile 850 Headlights

Hi
I live in France and my 850 T5 Volvo has failed it's French MOT on the headlights.
Does anybody know if the lights can be adjusted so as to be suitable for permanent use in France and pass the CT (French MOT)?
I have been told that if they are adjustable there should be a double headed arrow on the light markings - but I cannot see this.

Thanks for looking
Francis

If you mean can the lights be adjusted to dip to the right instead of the left, the answer is no. Also the temporary fittings holidaymakers use won't do either because the car is permamently in France?

Salut!

Pookie

Hi Francis, I too live in France. You will, I'm afraid need to replace the lamps to comply 100% here.

Do not despair though. One option is at a casse auto. Phone round first though & make sure they know the difference between a Ph1 & Ph2 before you set off. I fell for that and after 50 miles I was let down!

If that fails, Brookhouse Volvo - google it. Simon there is very helpful. He supplied LHD headlamps for my Ph2 850 about 2 years back. They were about £170 delivered to me in Morbihan (56). The only thing with the ones supplied was that they did not have the motors fitted. So not adjustable. Made by Scan-Tech. The motorisation bit was not a concern for me. If you go with Simon, you need to allow three or four weeks as he has to order from Sweden & then send on to you.
Since purchasing a set from Brookhouse, I found a Ph2 with a decent set in another casse! DOH!

Thanks for the replies.
I have ordered a set of headlights from Ebay.fr (66 Euros each) - they should be with me in a few days.
