Default Swirl throttle - "engine management service required2

Hi guys i have yet another problem with my volvo v50 d5, a few weeks ago i was driving on m25 cruising around 80 mph i put my foot down to accelerate out of a situation and the engine lost power after 3000 revs/rpm, and the engine management service required light came up. the lost of power lasted a few seconds and i decreased speed back down to 60mph n all seemed to be fine. but the light is still showing.

The next day the warning dissappeared however i put my foot down from the lights and the same thing happened loss of power and what volvo say "limp mode" kicked in for a few moments.

i took it to volvo dealer in orpington and they say its a SWIRL THROTTLE problem and it needs replacing??? cost £680 which im stumped at. the cars only got 34K on the clock (07).

Has anyone else had this issue, and got it fixed? any recommendations help advise would be appriciated.....

More than half of the cost is labour , the swirl throttle is about £80 and link £4 they are modified parts . The rest , injector clamp kits and pipes cost a lot more than the swirl throttle itself but are needed . Its very difficult to make a repair as the head is different in that area to the other D5 varients ..

Thanks mate, I been getting silly prices varying from 480-670. Each garage is saying different parts need changing. Apparently there was a recall or updated part that was issued but not for my model which is confussing. Il have to make a decision tomorrow.

Just to update, So I got the car back yesterday all seemed fine but the pick up on the car seem reduced less then what it was....and this afternoon the same problem happened and the engine management service required lights cone back on. £600 out of pocket a week without my car feeling rather pi**ed off!
