Default 2.5 D instead..?

Thanks liuleichan,

i may be swayed by a 2.5d but i know nothing about these.

Should i be looking for low miles on these, or just any around my price range? And also, what mpg can i expect?

Are there any problems which i should be aware of when test-driving a v70 2.5d, and is the servicing likely to be more costly, or more frequent?

thanks for your collective wisdom, again...!

Well the 2.5d is the Audi engine they used, before creating their own D5.

Dunno how likely that is - the 2.5D has been superceded for some years, and people don't tend to buy diesels, not to drive them.

Not sure - never had one. From what I've read here, though, perhaps in the 40s is possible.

To watch for - smoke.

As to servicing, make sure the cambelt period is adhered to. I keep reading about water pumps, and the 2.5d engine. And injectors are something to consider, long term.
