801's do not need the amp, but the 901's do

yes - in process of stripping it now - CD changer out, Stereo out - just need the interior collected then i can get the lead out.....

ah ok - but my 801 has an amp connector and goes through the amp so unsure how volvo do away with the amp as cant see how it would work otherwise?

they CAN use the amp, indeed mine does, but they do not NEED one. the 901 does need an amp as it does not have a built in one. the 801 just allows you to add an external amp to boost the output, but has it's own internal amp.

I have used the 801 in my own car with and without the amp with standard volvo speakers, and to honest, I cannot tell the difference

dibs on the lead, could you email me pic's of the 2 ends though? I have a lead, but only 1 end fits eith headunit or changer, I need one with both plugs the same
