Default extra awning rail

I have a porch awning that i have never used and i was thinking of buying an awning strip for £9.99 and fixing it to the other side of the van to use both awnings ,
has anyone else done this or am i just mad ?

Yes I have seen it done, in fact some caravans used to have a rail on both sides as standard.
I also knew someone who had a rail fitted to the side of his garage and used it to erect his awning if he came home with it wet.
Lengths of rail are quite expensive though.

Hi 60041 , ive been out looking at vans at my local dealers and the newer ones seem to mostly have a rail on both sides too , i am looking at a 3 metre strip to just run along the top and central, like i say its only £9.99 and then the price of some strong bonding agent , my porch awning is the type that justs runs along the top and not down one side so you can place it anywhere along the van, so just a straight piece and i could put the porch in the middle where there are no windows

hi nig you might find once on a pitch you wont have the room to erect two awnings as there might be someone next to you unless you are on a big site with large open space cheers gary

are you sure yours doesnt alreay have two awning rails? i know my rapide does which is virtually identical to yours
