740 Power Steering
I'm thinking about getting a 740, but the one I've found has very stiff power steering.
What is likely to cause this and how easy is it to fix?? Thanks. |

RE: 740 Power Steering
Front suspension needs top bushes replacing as they are causing too much drag on the system and the power steering cannot cope. OR power steering system needs an overhaul, probably new rack and/or pump or even just an oil change. That should cover this fairly simple system for you. Did you check the oil level/condition in the reservoir?
All the best, Peter. |

RE: 740 Power Steering
Silly point, is there a fanbelt to the power steering !!! Other points include flattish front tyres, sticky bottom ball joint and steering out of alignment. Off the top of my head a new steering pump is about £200 and a steering rack replacement £150. (I will be corrected on this) Cheers Nigel
