Cool H7 Bulb Replacement

Hi,
Bought my V70 D5 S 163bhp (01 Plate - Reg Jan 2002) yesterday.....first impressions are good......especially fuel consumption with speed & acceleration. Noticed that the nearside H7 bulb has blown & checking out the forums seems its a real pain to replace (removing bumper etc) Can anybody advise ?
Thanks.

Default Bulb Replacment

Both H7 bulbs on the 2002 D5 are a S** to replace, but can be done without removing the front bumper cover and headlight.
The L/H or near side one is easier to get at if you remove the air filter and housing first before the round plastic cover over the bulb, this turns anti-clockwise to remove. Then carefully pull the wiring clip from the rear of the bulb, this tends to get hot when the lights are in use, and gets brittle, so the clip is easily damaged. Release the retaining spring and remove the bulb. Its a bit of a fiddling job but can be done with a bit of patience.

Thanks for your help on this one. I've just gone a bought a replacement from Halfords.....£16.00 supply & fit & it took him about 15 minutes with torrential rain I may add. They managed to access it without removing any other parts, but it was pretty fiddly job.

Both sides are difficult to access. Its possible without removing ether the ECU on the right of air filter on the left but easier if you do remove them out of the way.
