after watching a top gear tonight i thought i'd reminis about old top gear and went on youtube for a look and found this.

but you after watch abit to get to the 340 bit:-

i do crave the old top gear from time to time, William Wollard, Chris Goffey, Sue Baker, Tony Mason, Michelle Newman and tom boswell.

Funnily enough, the 340 would probably be about the same or only a bit less now.

Yes, Top Gear has changed. It was a "Magazine" programme in those days, but was overtaken (sorry) as such by programmes like 5th Gear. There wasn't room, it seemed, for two such similar shows, so it was Top Gear that changed - and survived.

I would love to see another car programme like the old days of TG/5th Gear, but if there is not a major viewing demand for it, then it will never happen I guess.

Great clip thou, by the by, I found my 1958 Wolseley 1500 in the Bargain Buys section of the Auto Trader back in 1990. One owner, £500. Those really were the days eh?

Top Gear isn't a car program. It's an entertainment/comedy Clarkson, fan club program that has some cars in it!
