which is better?
Hi, I am looking to buy a used XC90 and needed to decide between the following:
1) 2005 Volvo XC90 4x4 D5 SE Geartronic diesel, done only 30K miles or 2) 2007 Volvo XC90 2.4 D5 SE Sport 5dr Geartronic diesel, done about 60K miles Any advice on which one is a better bet? I prefer the 2007 model, but really like the fact that 2005 has a very low mileage. Most of the other things seem equal. TIA |

Personally I'd go for the 2007 ... the other only having covered 30K (or 5000 miles per year) would worry me somewhat due to the LOW mileage its far more likely to "Break" than the 2007 (Having only bin "Pootled" about in) at 60K the 2007 will have at least been "RUN IN"

What are the prices, that must too be a factor?
I would in the same position be looking at the trim, extras and buy the one that looks and feels the best, the thats got your eye!

Thanks for the replies guys. Prices of both are roughly the same. I like the sport seats, so 2007 model is winning in my mind.
One other point for consideration is that 2007 model is from private seller whilst 2005 is from trade, who is providing 1-year warranty. |

Bear in mind the 'Sport' chassis is much stiffer then the standard, so the ride is more coarse.
I'd not bee too concerned about the low miles on the 05 plate. I only do 5k a year and most is on motorways, very few short trips. Also consider road tax, the 05 plate wil be about £260, the 07 plate sits in the high band and is about £450 |

the 2005 car has done only 30k i.e. 5k per year.
Its most likely mainly town driving. I would ask the owner about it there could be a reasonable explanation. |
