360 Horn Earthing
Replacing the horn on my 360 with a larger unit, that I have fitted behind the grille, I understand that the orange wire is the power to the horn, and the pink is an earth to the steering wheel contacts. I have wired the + side of the horn to the orange wire, and the new horn is earthed via the bracket and also by wire to the bodywork, but I have left the pink wire untouched.
When I reconnect the battery the horn is sounding continuosly, should I connect the earth to the pink wire that is the earth for the steering wheel contacts, and do away with the earth wire to the bodywork ? Did not want to try it without further advice in case I cause any damage to the steering wheel contacts etc. Thanks, Kevin |

basicly you have the wrong horn . you will need a relay now so the wiring will be more complex , best to find a horn with two contacts and not earthed through its body .

Thanks Clan,
The horn unit I have bought has two contacts, I have wired the + to the orange horn power, but should I connect the pink wire to the earth on the new horn, sorry I did not explain it very well. Kevin. |

That's my new horn working, I can't believe I did not think of connecting the other wire for the switch, thanks for your help.
