The screens are the ones fitted by Uk Volvo dealers, which were supplied to them by another company. I bought mine off ebay, as many others have done. David

Hi,
Got myself a pair of Volvo headrest with screens, look the same as yours. Will use the cyclone player as you have done but not sure exactly what else i need or how to wire in. I would like the option of playing sound through the rear optional speaker audio controls that are fitted to my xc90 and through wireless headphones, is this possible as have a 2yr old, 6 yr old and a 9 yr old, would also like option of playing sound through speakers if 2 year old does not get on with headphones ? Could you detail what i need and how i connect it all up? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks Dave. |

Hi
Glad you got sorted with the screens - they are certainly the easiest option. You will need to check your media player supply voltage - some are 12v some are only 5v. If its 5v, you need to get a small regulator to reduce the voltage as I did - see earlier in the thread. There is power in the armrest area - if you mount it in the box then the power is in there anyway for the rear ciggy lighter socket. Not sure re zones - mine does not have that option so I would need to look at the diagram and manuals for the head unit to see what aux input is there and usable...if indeed there is one. Someone else on here may know and help out. David

Hi,
have managed to wire in the cyclone and it powers on ok. Can you advise how I connect the leads from these screens to the AV socked on the cyclone and how i split off av for the headphones and modulator? Do you have a wiring diagram of how you wired yours together? |

Hi
I am sure I posted up a picture of the wiring including the headrest connectors too. Have a wee look back in this thread and I am sure they will be there.... not sure where they are if not! David

Hi,
Thanks for the diagram, sorry to seem dull but can you advise how i wire up the AV output from the cyclone to these plugs do i need to use the shield wire and the video input wire in the headrest and join it to a phone socket so that i can connect that to the phono on the cyclone lead and then what do i connect the audio leads to? Sorry if this is a daft question. |

New installation
Hi, just bought an XC90 and will be picking up hopefully next Friday from garage.
Last night I purchased the OEM Screens in Headrests. Obviously now I need to obtain a source to deliver the video to these. My initial thought was to buy the OEM DVD unit but having read this post and what a great post this is, I am now thinking along the lines of a media device. I have two children, girl 4 and boy 2 obviously Princess films do not sit great with my son so thinking seperate feeds for each screen and if possible option of feeding both screens at same time. Where would be the best location to house these as I have read if two devices in centre console you experience issues with remote control interference on both media units. Also if anyone has a diagram of how they connected screens to media device, have seen the block diagram but ideally would like to see how this was altered i.e. after it was cut. Many Thanks Matt |
