Good afternoon to all,Still waiting delivery of the imobiliser antenna ring(some kind of mix up in the post). So before it started hissing down i did a compression test, all cylinders between the 175/200 psi mark.i would think thats good,so something else ticked of the list.Does any one have a 4RA main relay for sale that they know is working,(the yellow one)Its in the main fuse box where the fazable links are.thanks to all.

Imobiliser Antenna ring turned up this afternoon have't tryed it yet(still pouring down).I did manage to borrow a 4RA main relay of a chap up the road,i know it works because he had been out in His car that day.Car didn't start so not that then.Just the IAR to try tomorrow, then its bite the bullet and get the Auto Electrician in.
Matt wouldn't want to muck about hot wiring it,thats asking for more trouble but thanks for the thought.

just a thought but as your car is an auto have you checked the gearbox inhibitor switch?, i would have thought i would stop you cranking the car if it was playin up but maybe not (if its giving no signal at all it might be confusing the gearbox ecu or engine ecu as to what gear its in or wether its in nuetral etc. waybe worth a check especially if the imobiliser switch doesnt cure it.

Good Evening to all,Renewed Imobiliser Antenna Ring, still no spark,i have now Substituted,
1) Main Relay (4RA) 2)Coil 3)Cam Sensor 4)Imobiliser Antenna Ring 5)Crankshaft Motion Sensor has been checked with Multimeter and found to be in limit but its the only part i can think of that can stop spark signal that hasent been substituted.(apart from the ECU). I spoke to the Auto Electrician today about making an appointment for him to check the car,he asked me to explain the symtoms to him and he said the first thing he would renew on a V70 would be the Crankshaft Sensor even though it apeared to be ok Oms wise.Going to order up a new CrSS on Monday if that doesent work then its Auto Lecky time.

Quite simply yes... Practically No...The switch is very complex and therefore it is difficult to ensure connections in the 11 position are still working in the crank position without using a multimeter and referring to a confusing wiring diagram... I have little doubt that a failing electrical portion can give erroneous signals between these positions having pulled such switch apart... Jod
