Either way I do agree, keep the fluids and filters in good condition.
I use the diesel one when it's on offer for about £2 a bottle car always feels good under pedal, give it a try.

I've never used an additive in my D5 but did wonder about trying it

Is your S90T the D4 or D5 ?

I put a bottle of STP 5 in 1 "Ultra" or whatever it's called and a bottle of STP high mileage diesel injector cleaner into my tank about a week or so ago.

I filled the tank to full and am now at about the half way point.

Have I noticed and difference so far? No. Not really. But I haven't done any long runs, mainly just pottering about 10 miles each way.

But for £20, it's probably decent preventative maintenance as I only use regular diesel.

A fuel filter change is on the cards in the near future.

Sandals!!!!! You wear sandals?

I always wear heavy leather boots with a steel shank, shin, ankle and toe protection and a GoreTex lining as a minimum. Plus armoured and abrasion resistant jeans, jacket and gloves.

Oh, wait. That's on my motorcycles.

Carry on....

This is relevant to petrol engine cars. Then the higher octane provides more pre-ignition resistance so much ignition advance can be used. This allows more power per cycle through higher combustion pressures.

A number of modern petrol engine cars auto tune the ignition based on knock sensors.

Tuning of diesels does not have the same issue so no need for premium diesel for any measurable performance gains. Diesel tuning is mainly limited by AFR/soot creation and exhaust gas temperatures. Add more boost then you an add more fuel at a very basic level without pushing soot levels too high.

You had me worried for a moment. I'm a cautious driver, but all that leatherware...

Actually I was slightly suspicious of the post from @griston64 where he mentioned sandals. Seems he's in Scotland - far too chilly for sandals that far north.
