Add me to the list.
2012 XC60 2.0L diesel R-Design Beads of water running down the inside of the passenger side of the windscreen. Push test on passenger side of the windscreen you can see the screen move at the roof joint. 🤬 To contact main dealer or Volvo UK, that is the question. Judging by previous responses it looks like a mixed bag. |

From my experience it depends on the dealer, mine (since this issue I've changed to another one) didn't want to admit to this well documented fault and refused to contact Volvo UK without having the car in for testing for 2 days at a cost of £90. I emailed VCUK after following advise from others on this forum, they agreed to pay the cost of removing the screen and re-bonding it (but not the cost of a new screen if it broke). It seem best to ask VCUK politely for a "goodwill gesture" and point out that the structural integrity of the car may be compromised. Ironically it was resealed at the the awkward dealer who on completion of the job said "we look forward to seeing you on you next service", I just smiled and walked away. As others have pointed out, Volvo don't do the work themselves, the sub it out to a specialist windscreen firm. HTH Lonsdale Last edited by Lonsdale; Sep 27th, 2020 at 00:48. |

Water ingress from the windscreen
I had a windscreen replaced due to stone damage & the Autoglass guy said it was a common fault with Volvos around the 2008-10 models. The bodong wasn't done properly. He cured mine when he fitted the new windscreen. But as with things like the awful Alcantara seat coverings that split so easily, when I complained to Volvo UK that this was the 3rd car with the same problem, they said they had never had a complaint about it so there was no comeback.

Thanks for the direction. I emailed Volvo UK and they have said exactly that, book in for an inspection and they will cover the cost of a reseal, interestingly not mentioning about who covers the cost if any breakages. Now to get booked in 👍😁 |

Paddling in water
Sorry if I’m not posting correctly but just joined this forum after searching online for help.
My XC60 has started leaking water from the interior light and this morning the drivers footwell had and inch of water in it! I don’t see how the interior light can fill with water when it seems higher than the windscreen ? No other dampness in the roof lining and water in footwell seems to come from elsewhere as I can feel water if I feel underneath dash below steering column. It seems these cats like water judging by these messages. Any advice very welcome. Thank you. ? Quote:

MY 2009 XC60 had the same issue which became much more noticeable at the end of September this year. It's equipped with the original 2009 Genuine Volvo windscreen that the car left the factory with (this is crucial point to get it remedied by Volvo)
Unknown to me, it has been leaking in rain water very slowly & discreetly for quite a while however it became very noticeable during heavy rain downpours with nearside "A" post trim cover developing damp patches as well as some rain water weeping into the front nearside, passenger foot well. Having "Googled" this issue and found out just how common it is, I called Volvo Cars UK directly on (0800 400430) and before I could even finish the whole sentence about this being a common fault and a "Safety Issue" bla, bla, bla,... the Customer Service lady @ Volvo UK simply said ... don't worry Sir... we are aware of this and I'll forward an email request to your local Volvo dealer so they can get in touch with you and organise a windscreen re-seal FOC. Within a week or so my local Volvo dealer organised a 3rd part Windscreen repairer company to do the work. It took couple of hour, all very professional and I now have a fully water tight windscreen. According to the windscreen fitter this is a very common problem on a number of Volvos from the FORD ownership area (around the 2008-2012) including the C30, XC60 & XC70 and it's always the top of the windscreen that unsticks itself from the body shell all along the top edge. Apparently a lot of modern Range Rovers suffer from a similar issue as well. I hope my experience helps other to get this issue sorted FOC and I must say... credit where credit is due... big "Thank You" to Volvo Cars UK Custome Service for taking care of this without any unnecessary drama.
