was that anyone i saw on the Eastbound M4 Hungerford (junction 14) at about 3pm today in a Dark Blue XC90? I was travelling westbound in my Titanium colour 06 XC90.

Suddenly caught a glimpse at the last minute, and the Blue XC90 going East had a sweet set of Led DRL's in the bumper. Really looked good. Might have to persuade Mrs StuT4 to let me invest in a set.

Just interested to see if it was anyone on here?

I bought new grills as well to fit them in so I could take my time. The lights are on bay for about £20 called audi style led drl's. They are larger than most of the ones you see in halfords, have a nice clear over lapping lens, and are curved so ideally hittable on the front little grill to the point the radius is almost identical.

So basically pop out the old grill, cut out the shape for the rear housing of the lights, TEST, fit the grill to the car again, then chop out the little bit of plastic thats in the car behind the grill as it wont let the light sit back in properly.

Then glue the leds into the grill, I also used cable ties to draw the cable tight back to a bulk head also helping to ensure the lights stay put.

Then splice the cables onto the original parking lights, remove the old normal bulb. Note these draw enough not to set the sensor off.

Put it all back together and below is what you get. Would love to hear feedback good and bad. I love these new led drl's cars now come with and have been tinkering with several styles but these with a little work really do look almost factory fit ALMOST though not perfect.

If anyone is interested though the link is

the dude that sells them seems to increase from £20.99 to £120.99 every other week. I imagine he runs out of stock, then drops it when back in stock. Suppose its cheaper than pulling the advert off, then back on again. the latest ones he got were £99.

Yeah those first ones at £20 are available from many sellers ranging from £20 to as you say £120, if you do a search on audi style drl's.
They aren't waterproof and Ive gone through 2 sets so dropped em and gone for the £99 which are in a different league, they are in for good.
Well if youve spotted another hopefully soon there will be loads of us flash buggers.

There was a chap actually who fitted those flexible led strips like eye brows just above those grills Ive used, betting it was him!

I'm sure these were just below the grill set at the top of the plastic bumper. They looked the dogs nuts in real life. yours looked great in the photos. they look so "original factory fit".

let us know how you get on with the new set of Leds, as with a few projects on the go, will really need to try and persuade Mrs StuT4 the need for these.....

Bill, how are the Led DRL's going? Have you had any problems with the £99 set with water ingress?

cheers

Stu

cos the LED ones look the dog nuts. I've still got the DRL's running on mine, but have dabbled with the idea of turning them off and getting these LED's.

Why not get the new OEM DRLs from the facelifted MY13 XC90? I just replaced the halogen fog lamps on my old 2003 with these... plug & play.
