Done. Thanks for the link. There was a place in "here" titled Derwentside Primary Care Trust, which closed on merger in 2006!
Just had a frustrating hour in Durham on here maps. Almost nothing was in the right place, some by quite a way. 3 things were closed including a golf course, a 10 pin bowl and a museum, 2, 3 and 1 years ago.

You will probably need to ask them as I don't expect they will do it by default. They may even charge for it.
As others have already mentioned, it is very straightforward. The time taken for the initial download to your USB stick is totally dependent on the speed of your internet. Mine took about 1 hour. I then chose to verify the download before I removed the USB stick. That took about 20 minutes. At the end it confirmed that the download was good.
Then plug it into the car. This time last year I went for a drive while it uploaded from the USB stick to the Sensus Connect in the car. It took about 80 minutes.
Last October I did the update whilst using the car normally (as opposed to a long drive). It was uploaded in about 6 stages while driving. It auto started when the car was re started. No problem.
This time I went for a long drive again and again it took about 80 minutes.

Interesting. When I got the car a year ago, it felt as if the forums were full of notes about the dealers updating the satnav at service, as part of the promise to update the software of your car. We shall see when I take it in.
I did the last update myself but I'm sure others reading will find your notes useful. I did the update over 3 days.

You are not wrong in your memory. The dealers were updating the software on Sensus Connect last year to provide enhanced functionality for some of the cars that didn't have installed at manufacture however that was software.

The map update is not software and is not covered by the software update promise. It is simply data which the software interprets to provide the route.

The anology is this forum - the software is the ability to search, the ability to create posts, the different groupings - the data is what we type in, the posts that we make, the pictures we attach.
