Looks like another "cxxk-up" by Volvo UK Marketing..........just looking at the "ie" site makes me ask why cannot all Volvo country sites share the same basic design and just select/unselect any regional/country specifics.
I think you will be calling your dealer to query why such a cheap but useful option has disappeared into the www.
I have paddles on my current car and really never use them, of course I've tried them, it's probably my age but I prefer to let the auto box do it's thing.
Must admit to liking the 8 speed auto very smooth, should give better fuel consumption especially on the motorway, revs on diesel should be about 200 rpm less, can't comment on the petrol version yet.

Yet again, VUK can't keep up with the Irish. We have seen this several times with the old XC60. When will somebody put them in their place ?

I've just had a look at the Irish website and noticed that they don't offer the T5.
They do seem to get more choice with interior colours as well, all seems a bit strange as to why Volvo can't offer all the same options across the board where ever you live.

I managed to get 19k for mine, they had to manipulate the invoice a bit, but the cost difference to change works out the same. Let's face it we would always like more, but my way of thinking is that the old XC60 part ex price will fall quicker now and possible diesels even quicker, although I'm sure there will always be a market for diesel cars especially AWD.
Mine will have about 27/28 k on the clock when the time comes, if the exchange was tomorrow I would have got 20k for it.
I'm reasonable happy, I've made the inevitable loss but then you know that's going to happen . I stand to make an even bigger lose on a new car, but again you just know it's going to happen.
Just as a matter of interest I've also taken out a 5 year service plan for £599 which I think is good value.
Yes, very similar part ex price offered to me. My car is supposed to be delivered in September. I am going with PCP so the service plan is free for 3 years, check out the owners club deal for this.
The paddles appear on the price list for R Design models but not for others.
Must be something to do with the steering wheel type I think.

Agree about the model variations, I would have considered the T6 if it had been available here. I am guessing it's to do with RHD/ LHD models and production costs.

But you never know, if it had not been for my choice of wheels I would have probably gone for Inscription Pro which gave you things like heated washers and wipers, screen steering wheel, massaging front seats and power passenger seat, but these are all things I can live without.
I agree with your other comment about the flappy paddles....I use my "press button to lower rear headrests" more than I do the paddles, the 8-spd auto is very smooth!

But hang on....massaging front seats? MASSAGING SEATS?
I'd have to have those

Come on you don't have to tell me the amount you have been offered, but is it lower or higher than mine, if it higher I will be a bit peeved especially seeing you car is bit older and probably done more miles. On second thoughts perhaps it best I don't know. Ha ha.
I'm personal not too keen on PCP, I'm sure it's got it advantages, I know it's now a very popular way of buying a car and has a lot of benefits for some people. I think the dealers like it because they make something out of it, which is why you may have got more or maybe less for your car!

Bobby. You've only had your car for about 2 years. Work out the depreciation over the x months and see how hat compares to the PCP price.

I'm afraid I'm old fashioned and like to own my car and not rent it, but can see the benefits to msny,; especially if they get a car allowance.

18500 pounds in Sept, mine will have done 23K by then.
I always use PCP as I like a new car every three years and they never go out of warranty. Each to his own.

I taken a hit of 11k deprecation on my current car and I know there will probably be an even bigger hit o the new one when I come to sell it.
I know I'm an absolute mug when it comes to cars.
(I have a lot of repect for people that run their cars into the ground, I've had my fair share of bangers over the years, and it's quite nice to have a car that you don't have to worry about parking at the supermarket, generally your given a wide berth.)
The thing with the PCP packages or finance is you have to pay interest, because I pay cash I don't have that extra cost, and with interest rates on saving being next to nothing I thought sod it, let's go for it.
It doesn't affect my pension, just my savings and estate when I have to go into a care home or
when die.
I'm not saying my way is the right way, but I'm old fashioned and it works for me, I'm always happy with interest free deals, but not available at the moment.
