Hmm, that's a shame, though not a complete surprise given the different feedback I've had so far.
Are they going to get back to you when they have a fix?

The dealer is telling Volvo Technical that the update doesn't work, they seemed to feel that it was not a new update at all, we'll see!

Understand that Volvo UK are not going to do anything about this problem as not enough people have complained! Dealer says they have been replacing Xenon Headlamps at owners cost with Halogen lights because of this problem and still Volvo UK stick their heads in the sand.

I can't believe that anyone would consider replacing their Active Bending Xenon lights with halogens just for this problem!
Though I found it irritating when I went abroad I spend 99% of my time in this country and appreciate the active lights, so certainly wouldn't consider the retrograde step of halogens.
I spent most of my time in Italy and France with lights pointing in wrong direction and didn't get flashed once.

Mike, what makes you think this comes from Volvo? It seems to conflict totally with the email I had from Volvo, my car is on Monday and will check it out then.

My dealer called me back after the update failed, the update was not something new from Volvo Sweden. When they reported back to Volvo UK Technical they said that they were doing nothing more. Don't see why the dealer should tell untruths.

After reading Mike H's post above I emailed Volvo Customer Service, and promptly got the below reply:
"Thank you for your email. Our engineer has said the following. -" I am waiting for the car go back to the dealer to have a CEM upgrade done - We can then confirm that when the CEM is upgraded it will have the function that the customer wants. If you can ask the customer to book in for the upgrade this would be great. Factory have said that it should be implemented in the new S/W."

I am not sure I can offer any additional assurances but I do hope this helps. If the issue is not resolved, then the dealer must report this back to technical support and our engineer will take this up with the factory."

So it certainly looks to me like they believe there is a fix and if it doesn't work they will follow it up!

No idea. I'm going to book my car in to the dealer shortly and see what happens. In the meantime it might be worth you passing on the contents of the email I received above to your dealer and let them take it up with Volvo UK.

S/W = software I think. Hope they sort this soon as it is complete pain having a R/H drive in continental Europe.
