It turns but will not pull out, the book says rotate 90 degrees and pull but no luck. The great diagrams of the LED change say just pull on the wires to the main headlight unit rather than rotate first.
What should I do, as I don't want to break the holder or pull the whole headlight unit apart as I hardly ever use parking lights at present.

Hmm, as far as I can remember they should just pull out. But my numberplate bulb holders had melted, and came out eventually in a few pieces, so unless that has happened to your front sidelights! Are both sides stuck?

Hi buddy

The front sidelights that are fitted into the full beam reflectors just pull out, but don't pull the wires, pull on the holder, in case you damage the connections.
They can be a bit firm, so give them a bit of a wiggle and they will come out.
No need to rotate them 90 degrees, as they spin freely.
Hope this helps.

I've just noticed that one of my two boot lights is out, so (I think?) I will be able to compare incandescent/LED bulbs side by side. Haven't pulled the lamp housing out yet so not even sure if they will fit, ha!!
As far as I know, the V40 has festoon type bulbs in the boot, like the S40.

I got some LED type to replace them amd they look great!

So just to clarify all the various bulbs I would need....

3 of these (2 boot, 1 footwell)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1207542525...ht_2879wt_1344

1 of these for the interior:

Don't bother with this one. Its horrible http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-X-501-W5...ht_1866wt_1344

You can use the same bulbs you are going to get for the sidelights and the headlights, for the interior of the car. And trust me they make the interior look so much nicer. So you will need 2 more sets of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

There are 2 lights on the front of the the roof lining and two on the rear.

You will be left with a spare one which you could either use for the glove compartement.

Yeah, that sounds good to me. I did exactly the same on my car and then helped Siamblue to do the same on his and both our cars look so much better now. When it comes to fit the sidelights, you will find out that possibly the LEDs are too long and rub against the plastic inside the sidelight housing. What I did, was to use my Leatherman and chop off the two top LED's. The bulb will still work perfectly fine

You are right, assuming that you are one of the lucky ones to have smoked or clear sidelights. For the rest of us (the not so lucky ones) with yellow sidelights, the bulbs can be normal white colour
