Not sure if they are any brighter but they definitely look better and provide a nice pure white light.
You using those on your stock reflectors without projectors? Is the output similar to halogens?

What's the purpose of those braids, by the way? Cooling?

Just bought a rather nice (well it was once upon a time) S40 T4 to break for spares and repair mine.

Yes, strictly a change to the bulb. No mods to the reflector. I had a chance to try them out in the dark last night with loads of snow on the ground. Good coverage and nice and bright. Beams seem to be slightly more directed than the halogens but not sure that's an issue. the white light lights up street signage much better than the halogens so may be an advantage for city driving.

The braids basically replace the fan that you see on some LEDs. They dissipate the heat to keep temp within operating range. The nice thing is that these can be tucked right into the light assy without issue.

Biennial wash. (Yes, the last time it was this clean was December 2014.)

Nice to see what colour the new winter wheels are at last

Are these wheels supposed to have some kind of plastic cover on the centre?

Need to take it for a proper wax and polish but I'm doing that AFTER the winter this time....

Also changed the cabin filter. The aftermarket one was difficult to pull out...

Parked mine up and driving this around for the Xmas and New year period, it's a bit of a bus, electronics everywhere hate to think when the warranty runs out what these things will cost on the S/H market, 40k new for a bloody Ford.
