I don’t think,” let the other party have a go ,” is a good enough reason to vote for them and I’ve heard it too often.

Rishi had the commonsense to realise it was impractical and pushed it back to 2035 to much fury from the motor industry who had set huge profit forecasts on the back of selling lots of EV's. My bet is as we approach 2035 it will be delayed again but with restrictions - i.e. only small engined cars etc. maybe 1.3L petrol and 1.6L diesel, and commercial/services cars.

I seriously think diesel is on its last legs, with the advent of event tighter emission control they are becoming a pain to keep reliable. I've got a hankering for a BMW 640d, but oh my! The insurance! Group 51!
Turning the pain up to eleventy.

More like Starmer will get in, promise it and then realises it’ll never happen and it’ll get pushed back again.

I'm thinking petrol hybrid or fully electric, but I'm not 100% sure. There's not really many hybrid's about that are reasonably priced. Toyota Prius for example... I'm unsure of them. I'm not sure if I like the looks. However, I do like the idea of not having range anxiety. In the same breath, I like the idea of not having much to service in having an EV. No oil changes, no cam belt or EGR valves to name but a few.
